TEPROSTEEL is the subsidiary of SIDENOR Group in the quality steels and special steels sector. The plant is located within the grounds of STOMANA INDUSTRY in Pernik, Bulgaria and addresses the cold finishing range of long products manufacturing.

The Production program of TEPROSTEEL includes hot rolled round bars (diameter from 40 to 120 mm) and peeled/polished round bars (diameter from 40 to 100 mm) in unalloyed structural, low alloyed quenching and tempering, case hardening and surface hardening, micro-alloyed and free-cutting steel grades according to European standards, as well as according to users’ specifications.

STOMANA INDUSTRY’s electric arc furnaces and casting facilities, equipped with automatic ferroalloy system, a four-strand bloom caster with 12 meter radius, shroud protection, electro-magnetic stirring and air-mist secondary cooling can ensure the production of high quality products. Besides existing rolling facilities, a new rolling mill specially designed for production of special steels has been commissioned at the end of 2007.

An investment project is currently under way, aiming at expanding the peeled product line, advancing quality and increasing production and dispatching capabilities of the plant.

STOMANA INDUSTRY and TEPROSTEEL operate under strict international quality and environmental management standards (ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004). Recently, an occupational health and safety assurance standard has also been applied (OHSAS 18001:1999).

Consistent quality of the finished products is secured with on-line non-destructive testing facilities in the plant and in fully equipped laboratories of STOMANA INDUSTRY. Assistance in development of new products, as well as sophisticated analytical facilities is provided by the VIOHALCO Group’s metal research center in Athens, Greece.

TEPROSTEEL’s expanding clientele include steel warehouses, services, service centers, processors and end users in the hydraulic cylinder, forging, automotive and other engineering steel sectors. Apart from the Bulgarian market, the products are delivered in the major European markets, such as Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, FYROM, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegoniva, Croatia, Slovenia, as well as in other Central and Eastern European markets, utilizing STOMANA INDUSTRY’s logistic network.
